Passion is what drives us…

Our journey began 14 years ago in Tamraght, a village that holds a special place in our hearts. Mounir started surfing at the age of 10 and later became a certified surf instructor through the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Surf et Bodyboard. He worked for many years as a certified surf coach in his family's business. It was in the waves that we met, and Morocco's beauty deeply touched Antonia, inspiring us to start a surf school in Tamraght. However, it wasn’t the right time for us, so we packed our bags and moved to Zurich in search of new experiences.

Mounir gained years of theoretical and professional experience in the tourism and logistics sector, while Antonia studied Hospitality Management and worked in the financial services industry.

After years in Switzerland and two kids later, we returned to Tamraght, driven by our shared love and passion for surfing.

We couldn't ignore our longing to revive the surf school and were excited to reconnect with the surf community.

JOYA Surf Morocco, our brand name embodies the attraction of a jewel and the joy of surfing. "Joya", from the Spanish and Portuguese word for "jewel", reflects the vibrant spirit that underlies our mission. We consider the country of Morocco, its nature and the beautiful beaches on the Atlantic coast as jewels. We want to protect and live concious in this paradise.

“I discovered my love for surfing at a young age in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro. Since then, I've been dreaming of a life by the sea where surfing becomes a daily activity. I have realized this dream years later with my two children. Inspired by our passion, we founded a surf school to share joy and connection.
